China Unicom: The number of 5G package customers reached about 190 million in July

China Unicom today announced the operating data for July 2022. As of July 2022, the cumulative number of 5G package users reached about 190 million, and the cumulative number of IoT terminal connections reached 343 million. 


In addition, the cumulative number of users of "Great Connection" is 813 million, including the cumulative number of mobile billing users + the cumulative number of fixed-line broadband users + the cumulative number of fixed-line local telephone users + the cumulative number of IoT terminal connections + group Cumulative arrivals of dedicated line users.

In July 2022, the problem-solving rate of China Unicom's smart customer service customers was 98.3%, and intelligent customer service accounted for 78.6%.


In the first half of 2022, China Unicom achieved mobile service revenue of RMB 84.9 billion, a year-on-year increase of 3.4%, and mobile billing users reached  320 million, of which 5G package users had a net increase of 29.99 million to  184.92 million. The penetration rate of 5G packages reached 58%.

According to a report by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, as of the end of July, the total number of mobile phone users of the three basic telecommunications companies reached 1.672 billion, a net increase of 29.41 million over the end of the previous year. Among them, 5G mobile phone users reached 475 million, a net increase of 120 million compared with the end of the previous year, accounting for 28.4% of the mobile phone users, an increase of 6.8 percentage points compared with the end of the previous year.

As of the end of July, the total number of fixed Internet broadband access users of the three basic telecommunications companies reached 566 million, a net increase of 30.7 million over the end of the previous year. Among them, fixed Internet broadband access users with an access rate of 100Mbps and above reached 531 million, accounting for 93.8% of the total number of users, accounting for an increase of 0.8 percentage points compared with the end of the previous year; fixed Internet broadband access users with an access rate of 1000Mbps and above The number of households reached 65.70 million, a net increase of 31.12 million over the end of the previous year, accounting for 11.6% of the total number of users.
