Gurman: Apple has completed the development of the official version of iOS 16 last week

Apple engineers completed the development of the official version of iOS 16 last week.

In the latest "Power On" newsletter, Gurman reiterated that iOS 16 and watchOS 9 are planned to launch alongside the iPhone 14/Pro series and Apple Watch Series 8, while he expects iPadOS 16 and macOS Ventura to launch in October.

A report by Gurman earlier this week , Apple plans to hold an iPhone 14/Pro series launch event on Wednesday, September 7th local time (expected to be in the early morning of September 8th, Beijing time). Gurman said that Apple has told some Apple Store employees to prepare for a new product launch on Friday, September 16, local time , suggesting that new iPhone and Apple Watch models may be available on that date.

In addition, Tianfeng International analyst Ming-Chi Kuo forwarded the revelation that the release/shipment date of Apple's iPhone 14/Pro series may be earlier than the iPhone 13/12 , which may be Apple's response to the third quarter of 2022 in the last earnings call. One reason for the optimistic outlook.

Apple has introduced a new lock screen design for iOS 16. Whether it is widgets, notification design, fonts, and colors, users can customize with a high degree of freedom, and will also support multiple lock screens.

In addition, judging from the exposed content , the iOS 16 of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max will usher in an off -screen display . After pressing the power button, the wallpaper will switch to the "Sleep" version and display the time, widgets and other information. When the user presses the power button again to turn on the screen, the wallpaper switches back to the original color version.

The official version of iOS 16 will also include the following features :

Focus mode is easier to adjust than before, and users can cull things they don't like right in the app. With the Messaging app, users can now edit or recall sent content, or mark messages as unread, and it also supports SharePlay, much like FaceTime.

The Mail app has improved search tools and also supports actions like recall. Users can even set a reminder to check emails if they don't receive a reply.

In addition, Apple is working to replace passwords with Passkeys to log in to accounts, a more secure method of biometric identification.

iCloud Photo Library helps users easily share photos with other family members, and video also supports real-time text/subtitles display. Additionally, it has an interesting new feature where users can extract themes from the background (with the help of Visual Lookup).

Elsewhere, dictation has also been improved, Maps now supports multi-stop routes, Apple offers users Apple Pay Later for installment payments, and the Home app has a new look.

The iOS 16 Beta5 version adds a battery percentage display in the iPhone status bar , and also introduces a new sound setting that allows users to better find their Apple Watch or locate their iPhone by sound.
