Ming-Chi Kuo: Apple's iPhone 14 / Pro series release / shipping date may be earlier than the previous two generations

Bloomberg's Mark Gurman previously broke the news that Apple plans to hold its first autumn conference event on Wednesday, September 7 (expected in the early morning of September 8, Beijing time) to launch the iPhone 14 / Pro series and Apple Watch Series 8 etc.

This evening, Tianfeng International analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reposted the revelation that the release/shipment date of Apple's iPhone 14/Pro series may be earlier than the iPhone 13/12 , which may be Apple's third-quarter decision in 22 years on the last earnings call. One reason for the upbeat quarterly outlook.

Ming-Chi Kuo said that global recession risks are still growing and unpredictable, so releasing/shipping iPhones as soon as possible may minimize the impact of recession risks on demand.

Apple expects continued strong demand for iPhones and has asked suppliers to produce 90 million iPhone 14 models , which is comparable to the production of the iPhone 13 in the same period last year.

Apple expects to produce a total of about 220 million iPhones in 2022, which is in line with 2021 production. Apple has been able to weather a downturn in the smartphone market because its customer base is still willing to pay for high-end devices, the sources said.

There is also news from the supply chain that Apple has recently bucked the trend and expanded the initial stock of new iPhone 14 series, reaching a high standard of 95 million units , an increase of about 5% over previous expectations, in order to seize the non-Apple camp market, TSMC, Hon Hai , Largan, Zhending-KY, Huatong and other Apple supply chain shipments have improved.

Apple plans to release a total of four iPhone 14 series models, including the 6.1-inch iPhone 14, 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Max, 6.1-inch iPhone 14 Pro and 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Pro Max. It's worth noting that there won't be a new 5.4-inch "iPhone 14 mini" release as the iPhone 12 mini and 13 mini devices aren't selling as well as expected.

The leaks show that Apple has three Apple Watches in development, including the new Apple Watch Series 8, the updated Apple Watch SE 2, and the new Apple Watch Pro version (expected to have a larger body, updated design and a more rugged version) specially constructed).

Apple is also planning a new entry-level iPad 10, updated iPad Pro models, a Mac Pro with Apple Silicon chips, and more, but those devices will likely be reserved for a second event in October.
