AMD quietly launched the Ryzen 5 3600 AF overseas

YouTuber @Ancient Replays found that Romanian retailer Intend listed a new AMD CPU, the model name Ryzen 5 3600 AF, compared to the original (Zen2) upgrade to Zen 3 cores, and Cheaper than the Ryzen 5 3600.

Compared with the first listed R5-5600X, its specifications are almost the same, and it is also a 6C/12T design, but the frequency is slightly lower. What's even more amazing is that it is cheaper than the current Jingdong Mall R5-5600 (959 yuan for loose pieces, 1150 yuan for boxed) when the performance is not much different.

Assuming that this naming is not a typo, it means the return of AMD's "AF" products, which should be good news for entry-level PC players, especially when the Ryzen 7000 series is temporarily difficult to enter the market for below 1,000 yuan.

The store price shows that the AMD Ryzen 5 3600AF is 639.77 Romanian lei or about 900.22 yuan. The AF nomenclature originally started with the Ryzen 5 1600 AF, which features an upgraded Zen+ core compared to the original Zen, and is less expensive than the Ryzen 5 2600 while maintaining decent performance.

"AF" is not the actual name, but the name given to this processor by civilian users. The only way to distinguish the R5 1600 AF from the R5 1600 is to look at the serial number of the box. The former has "AF" at the end. ” letter, which is different from the “AE” on 1600, so Ryzen 5 1600AF is actually an unofficial name.
