AMD has now launched the Ryzen 7000 processor code-named "Raphael", based on the Zen4 architecture, with a maximum of 16 cores. Next, AMD will launch the Threadripper PRO 7000 series of workstation processors, also based on the Zen4 architecture, with higher core counts.
The Threadripper PRO 7000 series processor is code-named "Storm Peak", and a 64-core engineering sample is now being tested with the identification code "AuthenticAMD AMD Eng Sample: 100-000000454-20_Y [Family 25 Model 24 Stepping 1]", there is currently no more performance data.
In March this year, AMD Threadripper PRO 5000WX series processors were launched for OEMs and in August this year for the DIY market. The prices are as follows:
- 5965WX: 24 cores, 48 threads, 3.8-4.5GHz, $2399
- 5975WX: 32 cores 64 threads, 3.6-4.5GHz, $3299
- 5995WX: 64 cores, 128 threads, 2.7-4.5GHz, $6499
AMD has announced the unification of the Threadripper and Threadripper PRO product lines for enthusiasts and content creators, and the future will only be the Threadripper PRO platform. The Zen 4-based Threadripper PRO 7000 series processors are expected to launch in the first half of 2023.
