Apple iOS 16 official version released

Apple today released the official version of the iOS 16 update, the specific version number is (20A362), which is the latest operating system designed for the iPhone. Like all software updates from Apple, iOS 16 is free to download. iOS 16 is available on the iPhone 8 and later, and Apple no longer supports the iPhone 6s, iPhone 7/Plus, and the original iPhone SE this year.

iOS 16 usually accompanies iPadOS 16, but Apple is still developing iPadOS 16 features this year, such as front-end scheduling, so iPadOS 16 has been delayed, and the iPadOS 16.1 updates are expected to be released alongside iOS 16.1 in October.

The updated lock screen experience is the most significant change in iOS 16, and users can now customize the appearance of the lock screen. You can choose which wallpapers, fonts, and even widgets to display. Specific focus modes and Apple Watch faces can even be linked to your lock screen, and you can set up multiple toggles throughout the day.

iMessage can be edited, deleted, and marked as unread. For mail, you can schedule emails, undo emails, and get follow-up reminders. FaceTime calls can now be transferred to other devices, and in the Health app, there are new features for tracking sleep as well as tracking the medications and vitamins a user is taking.

In the iOS 16 update coming later this year, iCloud Shared Photo Library makes it easier to share images with family members from one library, plus the Photos app supports copy/paste editing and locks sensitive albums like recently deleted albums. In the Maps app, which now has multi-stop routing, in Safari, Apple is aiming to replace passwords with passcodes.

The Home app has been redesigned, and with the Activity app, you can track steps and calories burned even if you don't have an Apple Watch. The Weather app has been revamped with new modules that provide more data and has also been updated with books, stocks, music, reminders, notes, translations, and more.

Apple’s logs show that iOS 16 introduces a redesigned lock screen, new customization methods and various widgets, and colorful information at a glance. Associate the lock screen with Focus Mode, and use the Focus Mode filter to filter out distracting content in your app. "Messages" ushered in a major update, and you can edit or withdraw the message you just sent. View image queries extract the body of an image from the background and copy and paste it into apps like Mail and Messages. iOS 16 also includes updates for features like Mail, Maps, Wallet, and Health.
