Apple iPhone 14 / Plus released


At the "Far Out" conference held early this morning, Apple released the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus, retaining most of the iPhone 13's design including mobile phones Notches for the selfie camera and Face ID sensor. The iPhone 14 starts at $799 and the iPhone 14 Plus starts at $899. Pre-orders open on September 9th, with the iPhone 14 shipping on September 16th and the iPhone 14 Plus on October 7th.

The 128GB version of the iPhone 14 is priced at 5,999 yuan, the 256GB version is 6,899 yuan, and the 512GB version is 8,699 yuan. The iPhone 14 Standard uses a 6.1-inch screen, while the iPhone 14 Plus offers a larger 6.7-inch screen. The iPhone 14 Plus model claims to offer the best battery life of any iPhone. Both models continue to be powered by last year's A15 Bionic chipset a major shift for Apple, which typically rolls out a new processor every year for its entire iPhone portfolio.

On the front of the iPhone 14 camera is a new 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle main camera with f/1.5 aperture and sensor-based stabilization. With larger 1.9-micron pixels, Apple claims a 49 percent improvement in low-light image quality, while night mode is twice as fast. There's also a new 12-megapixel TrueDepth camera with autofocus on the front. Apple said it also applied Deep Fusion image processing early in the image pipeline to improve low-light performance and color rendering, calling the technology the "Photonic Engine." Video recording also gets a new stabilization mode called Action Mode, which uses the entire sensor for gimbal-style stabilization.

iPhone 14/14 Plus supports satellite communication and SOS emergency contact. Satellite communications are free for the first two years and will be available first in the US and Canada in November. The iPhone 14 series supports the long-rumored emergency messaging via communications satellite, called Emergency SOS. The phone's antenna can connect to satellite frequencies when the user is not within range of the phone's signal. By customizing the short text compression algorithm, the size of the message can be reduced by 3 times. In the case of seeing a clear sky, the time to send a message is less than 15 seconds. Satellite location sharing is supported. In field scenes, emergency rescue, and other fields, The satellite communication function can perform certain functions.
