Apple iPhone 14 Pro/Max's AOD all-weather display turns off intelligently

The AOD all-weather display on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max will intelligently turn off automatically when the user leaves the iPhone in the room and walks out wearing the Apple Watch.

The AOD all-weather display on iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max turn off when the iPhone is in the user's pocket or face down on a table, helping to save battery life when the device is not in use.

According to German YouTuber Felixba, who attended Apple's "Far out" event at the Steve Jobs Theater last week and experienced the new products firsthand, if a user paired the Apple Watch with the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, once it was detected that the user did not bring the phone Leaving the room, iPhone will disable AOD always-on display.

Presumably, the iPhone 14 Pro will use proximity data from the Apple Watch to enable the feature and detect when the user leaves the room. Apple didn't mention this unique feature on its website or during the event, but it's probably one of several power-saving features that the iPhone 14 Pro's AOD display has.

The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are equipped with more energy-efficient OLED panels with variable refresh rates as low as 1Hz and save battery power through AOD displays. Additionally, the A16 Bionic chip features a new display engine that helps manage other features such as AOD always-on display and ProMotion, while optimizing power efficiency.

The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max with AOD always-on displays, better cameras and a new "smart island" hole-punch design are available for pre-order Friday, with deliveries starting Friday, September 16 to customers.
