Apple preheats the iPhone 14 / Pro "super-forward" new product launch conference

Apple has announced that it will hold a "Far Out" special event at 1:00 am Beijing time on September 8. This time, the online conference is still used, and it is expected to bring new products such as the iPhone 14 / Pro series, Apple Watch Series 8, and the official version of iOS 16.

Before the press conference, Apple once again warmed up the new product launch conference "Light up the stars, Apple's special event will be live tonight", and changed the slogan to "One point, all stars". In addition to indicating that the launch event will be held at 1:00 a.m. tomorrow, it seems to be hinting that Apple's iPhone 14/Pro will support satellite communication. In addition, it is also a metaphor that the product to be released will be a star.

Recently, Tianfeng International analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that Apple is indeed developing satellite communications for the iPhone 14/Pro series, and has completed hardware testing of this feature before mass production. Kuo said that Apple has hardware support for satellite connectivity, but whether the iPhone 14/Pro series supports satellite communications depends on "whether Apple and operators can solve the business model" issue. The Apple iPhone 13/Pro series also has satellite hardware, but connectivity is not implemented because "the business model has not yet been negotiated."

A future version of the rugged Apple Watch Pro will also support satellite connectivity, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman said in the Power On newsletter. Apple will announce the new iPhone 14 series at the "Super Preview" event on September 8. The series will include the 6.1-inch iPhone 14, 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Plus (or iPhone 14 Max), 6.1-inch iPhone 14 Pro, and 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Pro Max. The new lineup will mark the end of the road to the 5.4-inch "mini" form factor, which had previously only been released with two generations of the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 13 mini.

Apple is expected to release the Apple Watch Series 8, the faster Apple Watch SE 2, and the new rugged Apple Watch Pro. According to Gurman, the AirPods Pro 2 are also expected to be released during the event.
