Apple iOS 16 introduced a new privacy feature that requires apps to get user permission before accessing their iPhone’s clipboard to paste text from other apps, but some users encountered pop-ups with too frequent questions.
Apple said it plans to address the issue in a software update to be released next week, according to The Wall Street Journal. The report states that the software update will also fix an issue with some iPhone 14 Pros freezing after transferring data from another iPhone.
Earlier, Apple senior manager Ron Huang responded that a pop-up should not appear every time a user tries to paste. " This is definitely not expected behavior, and we'll get to the bottom of it," Ron Huang added, adding that this behavior has not been seen inside Apple, but that many users have experienced this frequent pop-up behavior.
It is understood that Apple did not provide the version number of the upcoming software update, but it is likely to be iOS 16.0.2. Earlier today, an Apple spokesperson confirmed that the update will also address an issue with the iPhone 14 Pro series’ rear camera juddering in third-party apps like Snapchat, TikTok, and Instagram.
