Apple's 2022 M2 iPad Pro will be released in October

Apple is expected to release the new M2 iPad Pro series in October this year. A new report states that these new models will significantly increase Apple's market share in Mini LED tablets. DSCC analyst Ross Young talked about how Apple's launch of the M2 iPad Pro will drive a recovery in the market share of Mini LED tablets.

"In the second quarter of 2022, OLED overtook Mini LED in the high-end tablet market, gaining a dominant share of 60% to 40%, for the first time since the first quarter of 2021, due to the slowdown in Mini LED iPad Pro sales Leading. However, with the new iPad Pro expected to launch in October, Mini LED panels should regain their lead in the third and fourth quarters of 2022, capturing at least 66% of the market each quarter. Mini LED in 2022 The revenue base in the second quarter of 2018 maintained its strengths despite 40% of sales coming from its higher prices."

It is expected that the M2 iPad Pro 12.9-inch will be equipped with a Mini LED screen, while the 11-inch version is only a chip-level upgrade, as well as some small changes. Whether Apple will sell the M1 iPad Pro series at a lower price with the new models is unknown, but the M1 iPad models are still powerful enough.

The growth in sales of the new iPad Pro is expected to help boost the development momentum of Mini LED tablets, thereby surpassing OLED tablets in the final months of 2022. Given that there are no major external changes to the M2 iPad Pro series, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman believes that in October, Apple will release related new products through a press release rather than a physical event. In addition, Apple may also release the M2 series of MacBook Pro 14-inch and 16-inch models at the same time, using 5nm chips.
