Financial data released by Pegatron, one of the main foundries of Apple’s iPhone 14 series, shows that in August 2022, Pegatron achieved revenue of NT$116.03 billion (about 26.107 billion yuan), a year-on-year increase. 36%, a month-on-month increase of 7.5%, a record high for the same period of the previous year.
In the first eight months of this year, Pegatron's cumulative revenue was NT$831.489 billion (about 187.085 billion yuan), a year-on-year increase of 25.5%.
According to the Taiwan Economic Daily, Pegatron's non-PC business revenue is mainly for iPhone assembly. From Pegatron's point of view, part of the reason for the increase in revenue in August should be related to a large number of iPhone 13 shipments.
In terms of products, Pegatron shipped 610,000 notebook computers in August this year, lower than the 700,000-750,000 units in July; desktops and motherboards shipped 460,000 units/piece, a decrease of 40,000 units/piece from the previous month.
Pegatron pointed out that the non-PC business continued to grow quarter-on-quarter. Overall, the third quarter is still optimistic about the traditional peak season, and the three major product lines are expected to achieve quarter-on-quarter growth.
In addition, the legal person expects that Pegatron will focus on the 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Plus assembly business this year, and new machine assembly orders are expected to increase Pegatron's capacity utilization rate. Driven by the iPhone 14 Plus business, Pegatron's third-quarter revenue is expected to increase by nearly 20% from the previous quarter and 5% year-on-year.
