Apple's iPhone 14 / Pro series adds a new switch sound

Assistive technology expert Steven Aquino found that Apple's just-launched new iPhone 14 series has added a new accessibility feature that allows the new machine to play sounds when it is turned on and off, similar to the iconic Mac's start-up sound.

The sound file has been added in iOS 16 RC, and developer Steve Moser noted that the feature will be located in the Settings app under Accessibility - Power On and Power Off Sounds, designed to make it easier for users to know if the iPhone is turned on or off .

Apple unveiled the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus , iPhone 14 Pro , and iPhone 14 Pro Max earlier today at a special event held at the Steve Jobs Theater , with two of the Pro models receiving relatively modest awards. A major upgrade, adding a pill-shaped "Smart Island", a constant screen display, a 48-megapixel wide-angle camera, an A16 processor, and more.
