The global ASIC design manufacturer Worldchip Electronics announced its second quarter 2022 financial report. Second-quarter revenue hit an all-time high. Cumulative first-half 2022 revenue reached a record high of $194.6 million, while net profit after tax was a record $30.5 million.
In terms of revenue, revenue continued to rise in the second quarter of 2022, reaching $101.1 million, an increase of 8.2% from $93.5 million in the previous quarter and a 3.9% increase from $97.4 million in the same period last year. In terms of net profit, net profit after tax in the second quarter of 2022 exceeded US$14.5 million, a decrease of 9.5% from US$16 million in the previous quarter and an increase of 4.3% from US$13.9 million in the same period last year. In terms of operating benefits, the operating benefit for the second quarter of 2022 was $19.3 million, a slight decrease from $19.6 million in the previous quarter and an increase of 10.7% from $17.5 million in the same period last year. Earnings per share for the second quarter of 2022 were NT$6.0.
Revenue for the second quarter of the year was slightly below expectations due to a shortage of ABF substrates. However, even with the fundamentals of the economic environment slowing down, the design demand related to the advanced manufacturing processes and high-speed computing remains strong and shows no sign of weakening.
