China's four major operators do not support the US version of Apple's iPhone 14 / Pro series

At the "Far Out" conference held early this morning, Apple released the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus, retaining most of the iPhone 13's design including for mobile phones Notches for the selfie camera and Face ID sensor. Apple also introduced the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, with a "smart island" pill screen to show alerts and background activity, brighter displays and AOD always-on display, A16 bionic chip, new color options, and more.

However, it should be noted that this time Apple's US version of the iPhone 14 series has become very radical, completely canceling the physical SIM tray, all using eSIM technology, and switching to eSIM cards supported by AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon.

However, for Chinese operators, mobile eSIM services have not been opened. Therefore, the US version of the iPhone 14 series will face the problem of not being able to use cellular networks in China. Some international students said that the US version of the iPhone 14 does not have a card slot, and if they return to China, they cannot insert a physical SIM card for use. In this regard, China Mobile, China Telecom, China Unicom, and China Radio and Television, the four major domestic operators, have stated that they do not support the mobile eSIM business, and consumers need to consider the purchase. According to Apple’s official website information, the national version of the iPhone 14 series will all be equipped with two nanoSIM card slots and continue to use physical SIM cards .

However, the US version of the iPhone 14 may require the following expansion SIM card slot accessories to solve (just kidding):

eSIM is an embedded SIM card, and the full English name is Embedded-SIM. eSIM turns a pluggable physical SIM card into a virtual SIM card that is embedded directly on the device chip, providing identification for each terminal device and enabling it to access the operator's network.

The eSIM can further save space inside the phone, making room for other components such as the processor and battery. However, it is more troublesome to change the mobile phone number of the eSIM, and you need to go to the business hall or use another mobile phone to scan the code to replace it.
