Fuji released the new GFX20-35mm F4 medium format lens

Fuji has launched a new GFX20-35mm F4 lens for its medium-format system, priced at 16,700 yuan, and will be available on September 29. The GF20-35mmF4 R WR is a wide-angle zoom lens that includes a variety of focal lengths, from ultra-wide-angle 20mm to wide-angle 35mm (equivalent to 16mm-28mm focal length in 35mm format).

Officials say that with the advanced functions of the GFX series cameras, the wide-angle lens with a focal length of only 20mm (equivalent to 16mm in 35mm format) can capture fine details such as expansive landscapes or cityscapes with high precision and high resolution. The wide-angle field of view is much wider than the human eye's field of view, allowing you to capture subjects directly in front of you from close range. Unlike traditional medium format photography equipment, the lens is easy to use and has a constant F4 aperture throughout the entire zoom range. In addition, its lenses feature a compact and lightweight design for improved portability.

In terms of specifications, the GF20-35mmF4 R WR consists of 14 elements in 10 groups, including three aspherical lenses, one ED aspherical lens, and three ED lenses, which can effectively control various types of aberrations. To suppress ghosting and lens flare commonly found in wide-angle lenses, the new lens is coated with a nano-GI (gradient index of refraction) coating, which effectively controls obliquely incident light to minimize ghosting and lens flare for image clarity.

The GF20-35mmF4 R WR features an extremely compact design and weighs only 725g despite being a constant F4 ultra-wide zoom lens. The commonly used 82mm filter aperture is compatible with a variety of filters. Traditional wide-angle lenses tend to be bulky, but Fujifilm has adopted a compact design for this lens for landscape photographers looking for expansive views outdoors for long periods of time.
