Funeng Technology released a new battery called Tesla 4680

Yesterday Funeng Technology held the "2022 Funeng Technology Strategy and New Product Launch Conference" in Beijing, and officially launched a new power battery solution - SPS (Super Pouch Solution), which integrates large soft-pack batteries. , large soft pack battery system, large soft pack battery manufacturing, and direct recycling of four innovative technologies into one, to create products that meet customer requirements and user needs from the aspects of charging efficiency, cost reduction and efficiency improvement, and adaptation of models.

According to the official introduction, the full-pole and multi-pole large soft-pack power cells launched by Funeng Technology have changed the multi-cell series design of the previous generation, thereby simplifying the battery system structure; The discharge rate can meet the power requirements of various new energy vehicles; the semi-solid electrolyte is applied to reduce the amount of liquid electrolyte and improve the intrinsic safety of the battery.

It is reported that the new SPS soft pack power battery system has an energy density of 330 Wh/kg, supports 800 volts, 4C fast charging, and can get a cruising range of 400 kilometers after charging for 10 minutes.

The SPS battery adopts the horizontal layout design of large soft-packed cells, which reduces the battery system components by 50%, reduces the material cost by 33%, and improves the volume utilization rate to 75%. Compared with models equipped with 4680 cylindrical batteries, Funeng Technology SPS The volume utilization rate is 12% higher, it has 3 times the cycle life, and the thermal conductivity is increased by 60%.

According to officials, the high-efficiency liquid-cooling plate and heat-conducting sheet provide double-sided liquid cooling and high-efficiency heat exchange with three-sided heat transfer. The heat dissipation efficiency of the battery system is increased by 4 times, and the precise and comprehensive temperature control allows the battery system to have a cycle life of more than 3,000 times.

In terms of low-temperature performance, experimental data show that in the -20°C environment, the capacity of the SPS system remains more than 90%, and the charging time is shortened by half.

Funeng Technology SPS can flexibly adjust the chassis height from 85mm to 145mm by adjusting the thickness of the battery cells. It is equipped with large soft-packed cells with different energy densities. The battery system capacity covers 80kWh to 150kWh, meeting the electrification needs of various passenger vehicles.

On the manufacturing side, the commissioning of large soft-coated cells will greatly reduce production capacity investment costs and manufacturing process costs. Equipment investment will be reduced by 50%, plant area will be reduced by 60%, and manufacturing energy consumption and costs will be reduced by 35% and 30% respectively.

It is worth mentioning that Funeng Technology has developed and verified the direct recycling technology of lithium batteries for more than 10 years, which can retain the crystal structure of cathode materials and reuse them, further reducing costs and energy consumption, and increasing the material utilization rate to 99%. above. According to data from a third-party laboratory in the United States, there is no significant difference in performance between cells made of 25% directly recycled cathode materials and cells made of new cathode materials.

In addition to ternary materials, Funeng Technology also systematically demonstrated the research and development routes of other material systems for the first time at the press conference. Funeng Technology said that sodium-ion batteries, lithium iron phosphate, lithium iron manganese phosphate, etc. plan to launch the first generation of products in 2023. The goal is to increase the energy density of sodium-ion batteries from 160 Wh/kg to 220 Wh by 2030. /kg, the energy densities of lithium iron phosphate and lithium iron manganese phosphate form a product coverage from 200 Wh/kg to 240 Wh/kg. In terms of low nickel, Funeng Technology plans to launch 250Wh/kg low-nickel and manganese-rich system products in 2024 and is expected to further increase the energy density to 290Wh/kg in 2030.

The monthly data on power batteries released by the China Automotive Power Battery Industry Innovation Alliance for August 2022 shows that among the top 15 domestic power battery companies in terms of vehicle loading in August 2022, Ningde Times ranked 46.79% of the total. The proportion ranks first, and Funeng Technology ranks eighth with a proportion of 2.27%.
