The most important feature is that it is equipped with the technology of "piercing the sky upwards", which is the world's first mass smartphone that supports Beidou satellite news.

According to Huawei, the Huawei Mate 50 series is the world's first popular smartphone that supports Beidou satellite messages. In an environment without terrestrial network signal coverage, messages can still be sent through the "Beidou Satellite Messages" service number in the Changlian App to communicate with the outside world. Keep in touch, and also support the one-click generation of track maps.

In addition, all brands of mobile phones can receive Beidou satellite messages (ordinary SMS) when there is a network on the ground. If you are a Huawei mobile phone and the Changlian version is 2.1.23.327 and above, you can also receive satellite messages through Changlian ( card method).

Of course, this function is only available in mainland China (excluding Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan), and only Mate 50, Mate 50 Pro, and Mate 50 RS Porsche Design support this function (excluding Mate 50E).

Now, when Huawei officially introduced this function, it also mentioned that other models can also support satellite communication functions through software upgrades. For example, Huawei Mate Xs 2 will support this function in the future, while other models cannot be supported through software upgrades. This feature is also known as the hardware limitation.
