IC Insights: Global DRAM sales plunged 36% in June and 21% in July

Data from research firm IC Insights showed that after hitting the highest monthly level in more than two years in May, global DRAM sales plunged 36% in June and 21% in July.

Previously, data released by research institutions showed that in the first quarter of this year, global DRAM sales were $ 24.25 billion, the second consecutive quarterly decline since hitting a new high of $26.24 billion in the third quarter of 2021.

In the second quarter of this year, global DRAM sales were $25.59 billion, up 5.53% from the previous quarter.

In the global DRAM market, Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix account for more than 70% of the market, much higher than other manufacturers. In addition, TrendForce expects the decline in DRAM prices to expand to 13%-18% in the fourth quarter.
