IDC: China's wearable device market shipped 28.57 million units in Q2,

Today, IDC released a report saying that in the second quarter of 2022, China's wearable device market shipments were 28.57 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 23.3%

The headset market shipped 16.18 million units in the second quarter of 2022, down 23.2% year-on-year. Among them, the shipment of true wireless headphones was 12.73 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 22.1%.

The watch market shipped 8.46 million units in the second quarter of 2022, down 12.3% year on year. Among them, there were 4.23 million units of adult watches, a year-on-year decrease of 14.5%; shipments of children's watches were 4.24 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 10.0%.

The wristband market shipped 3.83 million units in the second quarter of 2022, down 40.2% year-on-year.

The report pointed out that as the adult watch market with the most development potential in the wearable market, the trend of high-indication in the first half of 2022 is particularly obvious. Data shows that in the first half of 2022, the proportion of product shipments above RMB 2,000 (tax excluded) continued to grow, with shipments increasing by as much as 29% year-on-year.

IDC expects that China's adult watch shipments will decline by 3% in 2022. In 2022, the sales volume of adult watches in China is expected to reach a growth rate of 8%.
