Intel releases first WDDM 3.1 beta driver for 11th and 12th generation processors

Intel has now released the first WDDM 3.1 driver for its 11th and 12th generation processors, version 31.0.101.3616. In addition to WDDM 3.1, the new Windows DCH driver fixes several bugs in some of the most popular games out there, including Marvel's Spider-Man: Remastered and the cat simulator Stray, but the new version also has many bugs. 

Problem fix:

  • Stray* (DX12) may experience application crashes or errors during gameplay.
  • Vampire 's Retreat - Bloodline * ( DX12 ) may crash during the game launch.
  • Marvel's Spider-Man* (DX12) may experience lighting damage when looking toward the sun.
  • Marvel's Spider-Man* (DX12) may experience a soft lock when trying to take a photo of the Empire State Building.
  • Marvel's Spider-Man: * (DX12) There may be a missing lens flare effect in some light sources.

Known issues:

  • CS:GO* (DX9) The game may crash when changing shadow quality settings in-game.
  • Destiny 2* may experience a loss of display signal or display flicker during gameplay when HDR is enabled.
  • Stranger in Paradise: Final Fantasy Origins* may experience an app crash during gameplay
  • An "Update Driver" pop-up error message may appear when launching Battlefield 1* after upgrading from a 30.0.100.9955 or earlier driver.

12th Gen Intel Core Processors:

  • Red Dead Redemption 2* (Vulkan) may experience an application crash when performing ALT+TAB on the desktop.
  • Color corruption may be observed in the Realm of Chaos environment in Total War: Warhammer III.
  • Light damage may be observed in the Halo: Infinite* (DX12) multiplayer menu.
  • Grid Legends* (DX12) may experience lighting damage when lighting quality is set to high in-game settings.
  • CrossFire HD* (DX9) may experience an application crash when switching tasks during gameplay.
  • Chorus* may experience application crashes in certain internal areas of the game, such as the boathouse.
  • Sniper Elite 5* (DX12) may experience a game crash or TDR with an error dialog popup message.
  • Red Dead Redemption 2* (DX12) performance may be lower than expected when the game API is set to DirectX®12 and VSync is enabled.

11th and 12th generation Intel Core processors:

  • Minor graphical anomalies may be seen in Gears of War 5* (DX12).
  • Game crashes or hangs may occur when changing resolutions in NBA 2K21* (DX12).

  • Minor graphical anomalies may be seen in Elex* (DX11), MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries* (DX12), Exotic Expeditions* (DX12), and Ascending Battlefields* (DX12)
