Intel XeSS game oversampling technology released

After the release of the 13th-generation Core and A770 independent display today, Intel quietly launched its game resolution oversampling technology XeSS. At present, XeSS has been released on GitHub, and won the title of "Tomb Beauty". Shadow: Shadow support.

According to the update announcement on the Steam game page, Shadow of the Tomb Raider now supports XeSS oversampling under DX12.

According to previous tests conducted by Digital Foundry, in performance mode, XeSS can increase the frame rate of "Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Shadow" by  52% to 88%, and in the 3DMark XeSS test with ray tracing, it improved by  177 %. %.

In addition, Intel XeSS supports not only its own Sharp graphics cards but also AMD Radeon and NVIDIA GeForce graphics cards. Foreign media CapFrameX tested it with an AMD Radeon RX 6800XT in Shadow of the Tomb Raider, confirming that the technology works properly.


Intel XeSS has only launched the SDK on GitHub, which is available for game developers to adapt, but it is not open source yet.
