Is there a charge for Huawei Mate 50 satellite communication?

Huawei released the Mate 50 and Mate 50 Pro series mobile phones this month, equipped with ultra-light XMAGE images, ultra-reliable Kunlun glass, and pre-installed HarmonyOS 3.0. The most important feature is that it is equipped with the technology of "piercing the sky upwards", which is the world's first mass smartphone that supports Beidou satellite news.

According to Sohu Technology, the feature is only free for a certain period of time. The function page shows, "Open the Beidou satellite service account for the first time and complete the registration, you can experience 30 free quotas every month, and the new quota will be reset at 24:00 on the last day of the month ."

So, how will the Mate 50 satellite communication function be charged in the future? In response to Sohu Technology, Huawei’s public relations stated that during the public beta period, a monthly quota of 30 items will be free, and subsequent commercial plans will be formulated based on the public beta conditions.

Huawei introduced that the Mate 50 series is the world's first mass smartphone that supports Beidou satellite news. In an environment without terrestrial network signal coverage, you can still use the "Beidou Satellite News" service number in the Changlian App. Send messages, keep in touch with the outside world, and also support the one-click generation of track maps.

In addition, all brands of mobile phones can receive Beidou satellite messages (ordinary SMS) when there is a network on the ground. If you are a Huawei mobile phone and the Changlian version is 2.1.23.327 and above, you can also receive satellite messages through Changlian ( card method).

Of course, this function is only available in mainland China (excluding Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan), and only Mate 50, Mate 50 Pro, and Mate 50 RS Porsche Design support this function (excluding Mate 50E).

In addition, Huawei's official introduction of this function also mentioned that other models can also support satellite communication through software upgrades. For example, Huawei Mate Xs 2 will support this function in the future, while other models cannot be upgraded through software. This feature is supported, which is a hardware limitation.
