Kingston Introduces New NV2 Solid State Drive


Kingston has now announced the launch of the entry-level solid state drive NV2 for desktops and laptops, offering 4 models of 250GB, 500GB, 1TB, and 2TB to choose from. This SSD adopts the M.2 2280 standard form factor with a size of 22 × 80 mm, which has been upgraded to the PCIe 4.0 x4 protocol compared to the NV1.

The 250GB hard drive speed can reach 3000MB/s (sequential read) and 1,300MB/s (write), the 500GB and 1TB models can reach 3500MB/s and 2100MB/s, and the 2TB model can reach 3500MB/s s and 2800MB/s, supporting operating temperature from 0 to 70°C.

According to reports, the nominal write endurance of the NV2 series is 80 / 160 / 320 / 640 TBW, but the company did not disclose the exact master and flash memory combination. According to previous revelations, it should be Phison E19T DRAMless with 3D QLC NAND flash memory. Referring to the configuration of the NV1 series, the NV2 also uses a cache-free solution. The official said it will provide it with a three-year limited warranty, but has not announced pricing and listing information.
