According to Lenovo's official news, the Lenovo (Tianjin) Smart Innovation Service Industrial Park, the first "zero-carbon factory" in the ICT industry and representing the highest level of intelligent manufacturing of Lenovo Group, was officially put into operation.
Lenovo said that with the core positioning of a "green zero-carbon, digital intelligence leading, lighthouse factory", the industrial park will create scientifically replicable "zero-carbon intelligent manufacturing" solutions for the industry. Liu Guiping, Member of the Standing Committee of the Tianjin Municipal Committee and Executive Vice Mayor, Lian Maojun, Member of the Standing Committee of the Tianjin Municipal Committee and Secretary of the Binhai New Area, Yang Yuanqing, Chairman and CEO of Lenovo Group, and Liu Jun, Executive Vice President of Lenovo Group and President of China Region jointly unveiled the Lenovo Innovation Industrial Park.
This line can take off a desktop in an average of 24 seconds, and the monthly output of just one production line can reach 60,000 units. The new production line is completely independently developed and designed by Lenovo. Through the organic cooperation of 19 sets of robotic arms and intelligent manufacturing systems, machine vision, sensors, and other technologies are used to realize intelligent assembly at various sites such as grasping, sticking, locking, and installation. The intelligent technology can meet the seamless switching of small batches and multiple batches of complex models.
Officials said that in the production line test section, the R&D team faced the traditional pain points of the industry, and greatly increased the automation rate from 65% to 85%, ensuring that the test data is 100% transparent, visible, and controllable. In the final packaging process, the automation rate of the production line has reached 60%, and the quality inspection has also been fully automated. Production information such as product components and operators will be automatically uploaded through the system to ensure that all product information can be traced.
Focusing on "zero carbon", the first ICT industry zero-carbon factory standard formulated by Lenovo Group and China Electronics Standardization Institute Certification Center (also known as Saixi Certification) will be released soon, providing professional guidance and certification services for the industry to achieve carbon neutrality. Lenovo Group's construction of the Tianjin Industrial Park on the practical side will create a replicable zero-carbon manufacturing intelligent solution for the industry.
In the overall design and planning of the industrial park, the technical team of Lenovo Group analyzed and designed parameters from three aspects: functional, architectural, and energy efficiency, and determined the carbon emission tracking of the whole production process, the use of renewable energy, low energy consumption infrastructure, digitalization A "five-in-one" zero-carbon framework for information platform collaboration and carbon-neutral performance management.
Taking power supply and energy utilization as an example, Tianjin Industrial Park will make full use of clean energy such as solar energy. 20,000 square meters of distributed photovoltaic power generation panels will be installed on the three main buildings, with a total annual power generation of about 2.63 million kWh, which can meet the annual electricity demand of the park exhibition center; Photovoltaic products, such as photovoltaic street lights, photovoltaic induction garbage bins, etc., play the greatest role in carbon emission reduction in the industrial park.
In addition, the rainwater storage system in the park can save 5% of fresh water every year , and the waste heat recovery system is estimated to recover about 1.12 million kWh of energy per year, which has the greatest effect on carbon emission reduction in the park.
