Nvidia RTX 4080 12GB and 16GB versions are said to be available at the same time

The whistleblower MEGAsizeGPU is saying that the 12GB and 16GB memory versions of the Nvidia RTX 4080 may be launched at the same time. It is reported that the RTX 4080 16GB will be based on the AD103 GPU, while the RTX 4080 12GB is likely to be based on the smaller AD104 GPU.  The reference design for the RTX 4080's 12GB GDDR6X memory will use a 10-layer PCB, while the 16GB memory model will use a 12-layer PCB, and the two models will use completely different PCB schemes.

Based on the previous information, the RTX 4080 is expected to be equipped with an AD103 GPU, with 9728 CUDA cores and a TBP power consumption of 340W. Nvidia will be the first to release the RTX 4090 model in October, with 16384 CUDA cores, 24GB GDDR6X memory, and 450W TBP power consumption.
