Panasonic released the LUMIX S 18mm F1.8 wide-angle lens

Panasonic released the L-mount LUMIX S 18mm F1.8 large-aperture ultra-wide-angle prime lens. The LUMIX S 18mm F1.8 lens consists of 13 elements in 12 groups, including 3 aspherical lenses, 3 ED (low dispersion) lenses, 1 UED (Ultra-low dispersion) lens, and 1 UHR (Ultra High Refractive Index) lens. The use of 3 aspherical lenses achieves high image quality and beautiful bokeh, which are the common advantages of this series of F1.8 lenses. 3 ED lenses effectively suppress chromatic aberration. The 18mm focal length is suitable for a variety of scenes, such as landscape photography, astrophotography, and architectural photography with an ultra-wide angle of view. The closest focusing distance is 0.18m, which enables close-up shots.

The LUMIX S 18mm F1.8 weighs about 340 grams. It is light in weight and flexible. It can be used with the LUMIX full-frame camera S5. Reliable dust/splash proof design makes it work even in harsh conditions of minus 10 degrees Celsius for high maneuverability. The filter diameter is 67 mm, and the lens has 9 circular aperture blades. At present, Panasonic has not announced the listing information of this lens.
