Realme: A generation of digital series mobile phones will be launched every year

Realme launched its first mobile phone in 2018 and currently has more than 140 million users worldwide. On the occasion of the fourth anniversary, Madhav Sheth, vice president of Realme and head of Realme international, accepted an interview with foreign media gsmarena and revealed some future brand plans. At present, Realme has only launched the Snapdragon 8 + Gen 1 flagship phone in China. Sheth confirmed that the phone will soon usher in an international version and be released for the global market, and the timing is still in the planning and discussion stage.

With regard to the flagship GT product line, Sheth believes that the most important thing about the flagship series is that everything must be at a high level, including handling, screen, camera, and aesthetics. All of these are required for high-end flagships. When people buy flagships, they look at the overall great experience looks, camera experience, screen experience, battery optimization, and charging experience. Sheth said that design is the foundation of Realme, and even if everyone uses the Snapdragon 8 + Gen 1 processor, Realme will have a differentiated design.

In addition, Sheth wants to continue producing a generation of digital series phones each year, as he wants to give consumers some time before the next generation arrives. Mobile phone replacement cycles are at least 18 to 24 months worldwide, so at least on the digital lineup, it's preferable to stick with one generation per year rather than two.

"We'll try to do some smaller upgrades in six months, but we won't be releasing more than one generation per year."

Regarding the choice of charging and battery, Sheth said that people prefer to have mobile phones with at least 4000-4500mAh and a good charging speed, so Realme's target minimum is 4000-4500mAh.
