Samsung Galaxy S22 series US version pushes Android 12 / One UI 4.1.1 system update

Samsung has begun rolling out the One UI 4.1.1 update to the Galaxy S22 series starting in the United States. The update is now available for US Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra carrier unlocked models.

The Galaxy S22 series One UI 4.1.1 update ships with firmware version S90xUSQU2AVHB in the US. While the update didn't bring the September 2022 security patch, it bumped up the One UI version and made some improvements to private sharing and smart views. To install the new update, go to Settings » Software update on your smartphone and tap Download and install.

This update enables the renaming of file names shared via private sharing. To do this, navigate to Private Share, select the file to send or receive, click the three-dot menu, and select Edit Name. Samsung has also improved Smart View for the Galaxy S22 series of phones. Smart View's multi-view feature now displays multiple options, such as full screen, picture-in-picture, and more.

The One UI 4.1.1 update for the Samsung Galaxy S22 series is still based on Android 12, not Android 12L. Samsung has updated its One UI 4.1.1 version based on Android 12L for its Galaxy Z Fold smartphones and Galaxy Tab series devices. The new update may soon be released in other parts of the world.
