Last month, Samsung officially released a new retail flagship SSD, the 990 PRO, and also launched a version with RGB light heat sinks during the same period. The new product adopts the PCIe 4.0 x4 protocol, but it has been upgraded to NVMe 2.0, using a new master control and new TLC flash memory particles, starting from 1T and reaching a maximum of 4T.
According to reports, the sequential read and write speeds of the Samsung 990 PRO are 7450 MB/s and 6900 MB/s respectively, and the random read and write speeds are 1400K and 1550K IOPS, respectively. The random read and write performance is 55% higher than that of the 980 PRO.
