Today, the commencement ceremony of the second phase of the Shenzhen-Shantou BYD Auto Industrial Park project was held. The project is located in Xiaomo Town and Ebu Town, Shenzhen-Shantou Special Cooperation Zone, with a planned total investment of about 20 billion yuan and a planned land area of about 3.79 million square meters to build a production base for new energy supporting core components.
According to the report, the project is planned to be constructed in three blocks C, D, and E in sequence, with a total labor demand of about 36,000 people, and an annual output value of about 100 billion yuan after the project is put into production.
Wang Chuanfu, chairman and president of BYD, said that the second-phase project of BYD Auto Industrial Park in Shenzhen is expected to be put into operation by the end of July next year.
Data show that BYD's new energy vehicle sales in August were 174,915 units, compared with 61,409 units in the same period last year. BYD's cumulative sales in the first eight months were 983,844 units, a year-on-year increase of 164.03%.
In addition, among the top 15 domestic power battery companies in terms of vehicle installation volume in August 2022 released by the China Automotive Power Battery Industry Innovation Alliance, CATL ranked first with 46.79%, and BYD with 21.91%. than a ranked second.
