Analyst reiterates: Upcoming Apple iPad Pro 11-inch 2022 will not use Mini-LED screen

Display analyst Ross Young said that the upcoming Apple 11-inch iPad Pro 2022 will use the LED Liquid Retina display in the current-generation model, rather than the larger 12.9-inch size. New Mini-LED display technology.

Ross Young replied on Twitter, reiterating previous revelations that the new 11-inch iPad Pro will still not get the updated Mini-LED display technology, which means users who want a more advanced display will still need to buy the 12.9-inch model.

The Liquid Retina XDR display in the 12.9-inch iPad Pro brings the ultimate in dynamic range to the iPad Pro, delivering more realistic detail and an "amazing visual experience" in HDR.

The 11-inch iPad Pro display is an LED Liquid Retina display, which still has many of the same features as the 12.9-inch model, but lacks extreme dynamic range, higher brightness, and deeper blacks. Ross Young said today that he expects the upcoming 2022 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pros to feature the same displays as their respective current-generation models.

The new iPad Pro is expected to be an incremental update, with a new chip and possibly new charging capabilities. The new model will use Apple's M2 chip, which has improved performance compared to the current model's M1 chip.

Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reports that Apple isn't planning to hold a digital event for these new iPad Pros this month. Instead, Apple is expected to announce the new iPad Pro models "within a few days" via a press release and an update on its website.
