Apple is preparing to expand the AirPods and Beats production lines to India

After the iPhone, Apple is asking its suppliers to move the production of AirPods and Beats headphones to India. Apple suppliers have started assembling iPhone 14 series models in India. According to Nikkei, they now intend to manufacture Apple headphones in India, while Foxconn has already started preparations for the production of Beats headphones in India, and hopes to eventually produce AirPods headphones in India as well.

In addition to Foxconn, Luxshare also plans to help Apple make AirPods in India, although the company is currently more focused on production in Vietnam, so it may have a later start than other AirPods makers. The total cost of producing, selling, and shipping an iPhone from India to Europe and the Middle East is about $1 billion, a figure that could reach $2.5 billion by March 2023 if new incentives are introduced.

At present, Apple has invested a lot of energy to expand production and supply chain to places such as Vietnam and Brazil and plans to transfer 25% of production work to India by 2025, thereby reducing labor costs.
