Apple M2 iPad Pro 2022 Wi-Fi + Cellular version cuts GSM/EDGE

Apple has just released the 2022 iPad Pro 11-inch and 12.9-inch models, but according to information, the Wi-Fi + cellular network version no longer supports GSM/EDGE. EDGE was initially deployed on GSM networks in 2003 and is capable of delivering data rates up to 384 kbps, an evolutionary upgrade to existing GSM/GPRS networks.

GSM/EDGE is often referred to as 2.5G because it bridges the gap between 2G and 3G technologies that were being developed at the time. A number of operators have shut down or will shut down the network soon. And Apple's approach clearly decided that the iPad's traditional support has come to an end.

The Apple M2 iPad Pro 2022 supports 802.11ax wireless LAN, as well as simultaneous dual-band (2.4GHz and 5GHz), HT80-enabled MIMO technology, and Bluetooth 5.3 technology. In addition, the Apple M2 iPad Pro 2022 supports Wi‑Fi 6E, but not in mainland China and Japan.

The starting price of the 11-inch iPad Pro wireless LAN model is RMB 6799, and the starting price of the wireless LAN + cellular network model is RMB 7999; the starting price of the 12.9-inch iPad Pro wireless LAN model is RMB 9299, and the wireless LAN + cellular network model starts at RMB 9299. The starting price of the model is RMB 10499.
