Apple watchOS 9.0.2 / iOS 16.0.3 official version released

watchOS 9.0.2

Apple today pushed the watchOS 9.0.2 update (build number: 20R383) to Apple Watch users. This update is 17 days after the last release.

Apple watchOS 9.0.2 brings several feature fixes to the Apple Watch and is 120MB in size:

  • Spotify audio streaming is interrupted
  • After AssistiveTouch users delete the alarm, the reminder alarm notification will continue to appear
  • Incomplete sync of Wallet and Fitness data on newly paired Apple Watch
  • Microphone audio is interrupted for some Apple Watch Series 8 and Ultra users

Due to the cache configuration of Apple's regional node servers, there may be a slight delay in the detection of the upgrade update in some places. Generally, it will not be too long within half an hour.

You can download updates by opening the Apple Watch app on your iPhone and going to General > Software Update. To install new software, the Apple Watch needs to have at least 50 percent battery power, it needs to be on a charger, and it needs to be within range of the iPhone.

iOS 16.0.3

Apple today pushed the official version update of iOS 16.0.3 (internal version number 20A392) to iPhone users, 17 days after the last official version. The official version of iOS 16.0.3 is updated with a size of 1.21GB and brings a number of fixes.

  • Incoming calls and app notifications may be delayed or not pushed on iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max
  • Microphone volume is too low during CarPlay calls on iPhone 14 models
  • The camera may be slow to launch or switch modes on iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max
  • Mail crashes on startup after receiving a malformed email

Due to the cache configuration of Apple's regional node servers, there may be a slight delay in the detection of the upgrade update in some places. Generally, it will not be too long within half an hour.

The CarPlay issue caused Apple iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max users to be unable to receive sound when making hands-free calls in the car, causing the caller to feel that the voice was low or far away when speaking.

Camera issues have also been reported by users before, with some users reporting that in some cases the camera app returns from the background after launching and takes up to four or five seconds to open.

Additionally, Apple's iOS 16 has a display flickering issue that causes some iPhone users to see flickering black dots on the screen, and it's unclear if this update fixes the issue.
