Apple's MacBook foundry Quanta's revenue in September was about 27.289 billion yuan

Apple's MacBook foundry Quanta's revenue in September 2022 decreased by 8.4% from the previous month. Yeda was the only manufacturer in the month of month-on-month decline.

Data shows that Quanta’s revenue in September was NT$120.747 billion (about 27.289 billion yuan), a decrease of 8.4% month-on-month and a year-on-year increase of 47%, ending two consecutive months of new highs and still standing above NT$100 billion.

Quanta's cumulative revenue in the first three quarters of this year was NT$954.324 billion (about 215.677 billion yuan), a year-on-year increase of 20.7%. Due to the higher base period in the third quarter, the legal person expects a slight decrease in revenue in the fourth quarter.

In addition, the expansion of MacBook shipments in the third quarter motivated Quanta's revenue to reach NT$382.076 billion (approximately RMB 86.349 billion), an increase of 41.3% month-on-month and 46.1% year-on-year. Quanta shipped 15.6 million laptops in the third quarter, up 26% from the previous quarter, but down from 17.4 million in the same period last year.

For comparison, in August 2022, Quanta's revenue was NT$131.86 billion (approximately RMB 29.668 billion), a month-on-month increase of 1.9% and a year-on-year increase of 55.7%.

Quanta previously stated that the shipments of notebooks in July and August were above 5 million units, which was higher than the normal level. This was due to delayed shipments of orders. Now that the personal computer (PC) boom is declining, those that can be shipped as soon as possible will be shipped as soon as possible. Shipments, and notebook shipments in the third quarter will increase by more than 20% compared with the second quarter, and shipments in the fourth quarter are expected to decline.
