Canalys: Laptop shipments decline for three consecutive quarters

Canaly's latest report shows that in the second quarter of 2022, due to the continued downturn in education purchases compared with the same period last year, notebook computers declined for the third consecutive quarter, with shipments falling 18.6% to 54.5 million desks.

The report pointed out that in the second quarter of 2022, many of the world's largest personal computer markets faced huge inflationary pressures, which have not been effectively contained, resulting in a setback in demand, especially from the consumer sector.

The top five global notebook computer shipments in the second quarter of 2022 are Lenovo (24%), HP (18%), Dell (17%), ASUS (8%), and Acer (8%).

In the Chinese mainland market, the top five are Lenovo (37%), Dell (11%), Huawei (10%), ASUS (9%), and HP (7%).
