Canalys: Xiaomi's Q3 India market share is 21%

According to the latest research report released by market research agency Canalys, in the third quarter of 2022, Xiaomi ranked first in the Indian market with shipments of 9.2 million units and a market share of 21%.

In addition to Xiaomi, Samsung, Vivo, and OPPO ranked second, third and fourth, with 8.1 million units (18%), 7.3 million units (16%), and 7.1 million units (16%), respectively, while Realme fell To fifth, shipments were 6.2 million units (14%).

The report shows that India's smartphone shipments in the third quarter of 2022 were 44.6 million units, down 6% from the previous year, due to the lack of success in the low-end market.

Canalys analyst Sanyam Chaurasia pointed out that the market contribution of entry-level devices fell this year, hit by inflation, while the mid-to-high-end segment performed relatively better due to aggressive promotions. OnePlus and iQOO were two important brands driving the growth of mid-end mobile phone sales in e-commerce channels during this period. Flagship models, especially older generation flagships, have also experienced strong demand momentum after price cuts, such as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3, Galaxy S22 series, Apple iPhone 13, and more.
