China Mobile Group said that in the first half of 2022, China Mobile's 5G-related investment reached 58.7 billion yuan. As of now, China Mobile has opened more than 1.1 million 5G base stations nationwide. It accounts for more than 50% of the national 5G base station.
The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said that as of the end of August, the total number of 5G base stations reached 2.102 million, accounting for 19.8% of the total number of mobile base stations, an increase of 5.5 percentage points compared with the end of the previous year. Among them, 677,000 new 5G base stations were built from January to August this year.
At the end of September this year, China Mobile announced that in terms of the mobile business, the total number of customers reached about 973 million, with a net increase of 2.109 million this month and a cumulative net increase of 16.35 million this year; the number of 5G package customers reached about 538.79 million. In terms of wired broadband business, the total number of customers reached 261 million, with a net increase of 2.648 million this month and a cumulative net increase of 20.797 million this year.
In the first half of the year, China Mobile's personal market revenue reached 256.1 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 0.2%; mobile customers reached 970 million, a net increase of 12.96 million, of which 5G package customers reached 511 million, a net increase of 124 million.
