In a recent smartphone battery life test, Apple's iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max surpassed other flagship smartphones, including Google's Pixel 7 Pro and Samsung's Galaxy S22 Ultra. PhoneArena put battery life tests on some of the most popular flagship smartphones on the market today, including Google's new Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, and the older Pixel 6 Pro. In the first part of the test, each phone was put on an emulator to replicate typical web browsing. The Apple iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max were the winners of this specific test. The continuation results are as follows:
- Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max: 19 hours 5 minutes
- Apple iPhone 14 Pro: 16 hours 18 minutes
- Google Pixel 7 Pro: 14 hours 19 minutes
- Google Pixel 7: 13 hours 56 minutes
- Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra: 13 hours 17 minutes
- Google Pixel 6 Pro: 13 hours 13 minutes
The second part of the test consisted of each phone playing back the same YouTube video until it ran out of battery. According to the video, each phone starts at a 100% brightness level. The continuation results are as follows:
- Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max: 11 hours and 0 minutes
- Google Pixel 7 Pro: 9 hours 39 minutes
- Apple iPhone 14 Pro: 9 hours 14 minutes
- Google Pixel 7: 9 hours 13 minutes
- Google Pixel 6 Pro: 9 hours 10 minutes
- Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra: 7 hours 27 minutes
From the data point of view, the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max have the longest battery life and should have the largest physical capacity battery, but this is not the case.
In fact, the iPhone 14 Pro has the smallest battery capacity compared to the Google Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 6 Pro, and Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra.
