Germany: Operators Vodafone and Altice form joint venture to deliver fibre broadband to 7 million homes

Britain's Vodafone and France's Altice said they will set up a FibreCo joint venture in Germany to provide faster fiber broadband to up to 7 million homes within six years.

FibreCo, which will provide fiber-to-the-home connectivity, will invest up to 7 billion euros (about 49.21 billion yuan) to build the network, Vodafone said in a statement on Monday. The project is in line with an upgrade plan for Vodafone's existing hybrid fiber optic cable network.

Both companies will own 50% of FibreCo, and the transaction is subject to regulatory approval and is expected to close in the first half of 2023.
