Lenovo's new ThinkPad X1 Fold goes on sale in mid-October


Lenovo Japan Co., Ltd. will release the "ThinkPad X1 Fold" equipped with a 16.3-inch folding OLED display in mid-October, with a minimum price of 542,300 yen (about 26,573 yuan) rise. The ThinkPad X1 Fold Gen 2 is equipped with a  9W model of the 12th-generation Core U series, with up to 32GB of LPDDR5 memory and 1TB of SSD.

In terms of screen, the ThinkPad X1 Fold Gen 2 is equipped with a  16.3-inch OLED screen with a ratio of about 4:3, a resolution of 2,560 x 2,024, SDR brightness 400 nits, HDR brightness 600 nits, and 100% DCI-P3 color domain, the screen bezel is only 8 mm. After attaching the keyboard to the lower half of the screen, it can be transformed into a regular 12-inch notebook.

In other respects, the new generation of ThinkPad X1 Fold comes standard with a 48 Wh battery, is equipped with a 65 W power adapter, has two Thunderbolt 4 ports, a USB 3.2 Type-C port, and a nano-SIM card slot. The weight of the new generation ThinkPad X1 Fold is 1.28kg, plus the total weight of the stand and keyboard is 1.9kg.

Lenovo initially announced that the ThinkPad X1 Fold is expected to be available starting in November 2022, starting at $2,499.
