LG releases new 32-inch 4K smart display


LG released a new 32-inch 4K smart display that supports Apple AirPlay 2 wireless projection, 65W USB-C connection, and ThinQ Home for controlling smart home accessories. The 4K 60Hz monitor is powered by webOS, which is also pre-installed on LG smart TVs. Run a variety of streaming apps like Netflix and Hulu, as well as a smart home dashboard for controlling connected smart accessories.

The monitor also supports AirPlay 2, an upgraded version of Apple's networking protocol for streaming audio or video from one Apple device to another over the network. Specifically, AirPlay 2 lets people stream audio to multiple devices at once.

Users can use AirPlay 2 with an LG Smart Display to mirror an iPhone or Mac display, stream video from compatible apps, and stream audio to the display's two 5W stereo speakers.

It can be extended and retracted from zero to 180 mm, or just over 7 inches, for a total of about 280 degrees of rotation and 90 degrees to a horizontal or vertical position. The tilt range is about 25 degrees, and one can adjust the height of the display from zero to 130mm.

LG includes a USB-C 65W port, two HDMI ports, three USB-A ports, and an Ethernet port .

The LG smart display model 32SQ780S is priced at $499.99.
