MediaTek Dimensity 9 series iterative platform DX2 exposed

In November last year, MediaTek launched its first 4nm flagship chipset, the Dimensity 9000. In June this year, MediaTek officially launched a small upgraded version of the chipset - Dimensity 9000+.

With the start of a new round of flagship iterations, Qualcomm SM8550 (tentatively called Snapdragon 8 Gen2) and MediaTek's new platform are already in the final moments before release, but we have yet to see the emergence of detailed information about MediaTek's next-generation flagship platform.

Digital blogger @Digital Chat Station revealed today that the Dimensity 9 series iterative platform is called "DX2" in the industry, and the official name has not yet been confirmed.

Judging from the supply chain situation he has learned so far, the new phones already under development include two Vivo X series, one OPPO Find X series, and another from a certain e-sports game brand. Considering that Xiaomi has launched an enhanced version of the Redmi K40 game equipped with MediaTek's flagship platform, the possibility of a Redmi gaming phone cannot be ruled out.

The blogger also broke the news earlier that the delivery time of the Dimensity 9000 iterative chip is much earlier than that of the Dimensity 9000, and the first terminal product equipped with the Dimensity 9000 iterative chip will be released at the end of the year.

In terms of performance, at present, the engineering machine equipped with the Dimensity DX2 chip is slightly better than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Considering that many models equipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 will also be released at the end of the year, this time Qualcomm and MediaTek can be described as "the flagship chip duel at the shipping gate".

The blogger also said that next year, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 may have an ultra-high frequency version of "ashes from the factory", and the GPU scale will be increased on the basis of this year. Dimensity 9 series iterative chips continue to pile up CPUs. The blogger also said that because the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen2 chip itself uses TSMC's 4nm process technology, next year's flagship chip will not have a major update for half a year like this year, and the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2 chip in the second half of next year will only be Snapdragon. 8 Gen 2 chip overclocked version.

According to the information, the first batch of mobile phones equipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen2 is planned to be released after Qualcomm's Snapdragon Summit. It is tentatively scheduled for the second half of November, and the first manufacturers are progressing normally. The Xiaomi Mi 13 series, Redmi K60 series, Vivo X90 series, etc. will all be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor.
