Micron invests $100 billion to build Megafab memory factory in New York

 According to Micron’s official website, Micron announced an investment of up to $100 billion to build Megafab’s leading memory factory in central New York for sustainable construction and operation, creating nearly 50,000 jobs in New York, including about 9,000 High Paying Micron Jobs.

According to reports, Micron plans to invest as much as $100 billion in the next 20 years to build a new giant factory in Clay, New York, and plans to complete the first phase of investment of $20 billion by the end of this decade. This is the largest private investment in New York State history. The site could eventually include four 600,000-square-foot cleanrooms for a total of 2.4 million square feet of cleanroom space roughly the size of 40 U.S. football fields.

Site preparation for Micron's new plant will begin in 2023, construction will begin in 2024, and production will gradually increase in the second half of this century.
