Microsoft Xbox Insiders system update

Microsoft pushed the  2308.221010-1900 version update to the Alpha Skip Ahead channel of Xbox Insiders, bringing a number of functional improvements and bug fixes.

New features and experiences:

Game DVR screen recording:

  • On Xbox Series S|X consoles, 720p, and 1080p game DVR capture now have a 30% higher bitrate.
  • Profile: Starting today, a random subset of users will see the new "Request to Join" feature. Just navigate to a friend's profile and send them a notification using the "Request to Join" button, who can easily reply to a message or invite you to a game.
  • Xbox supports: Starting today, Xbox Assist will be updated to Xbox Support and will include a new layout and browsing experience similar to the one on Support.Xbox.com.

Repair content:

  • Audio: Fixed an issue where the console could not output audio on boot in some cases.
  • Handle: Fixed an issue where the controller would randomly lose sync or disconnect from the host.
  • System: Some updated features now correctly display the local language on the console.
These updates are currently limited to Xbox Insider users on the Alpha Skip Ahead channel and are expected to roll out to all users in the near future.
