Netizens found that some of the Chinese iPhone 14 were assembled in India

Some netizens recently posted on the Internet that the iPhone 14  Pro Max they bought was assembled in India. According to the netizen, they bought two at Apple’s Dalian direct store last week. The dark purple 256GB version of the iPhone 14 Pro Max turned out to be assembled in different places in China and India.

The photo shows that one of the iPhone's outer packaging says Assembled in India, but the box still states "Made in China".

Regarding this matter, a reporter from the "Science and Technology Innovation Board Daily" asked the official customer service hotline of Apple 400. A senior technical adviser of Apple said, "From the content of the photos, the iPhone parts are made in China and assembled in India."

Previously, media's reported that Apple had started producing the iPhone 14 in India in September this year, earlier than expected, reducing the gap between production in China and India from a few months to a few weeks. It was produced in India in the first year of its launch. "We are excited to manufacture the iPhone 14 in India," Apple said in an emailed statement.

A report from JPMorgan Chase shows that from the end of 2022, Apple will transfer about 5% of the production capacity of the iPhone 14 to India, and it is expected that by 2025, a quarter of Apple's iPhone will be in Made in India.
