Samsung launched the economical tablet Galaxy Tab A8 last year, pre-installed with the Android 11-based One UI 3 system, and now the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 LTE version has begun to push Android 12 updates in Europe.

The updated firmware version for the Galaxy Tab A8 based on Android 12's One UI 4.1 is X205XXU1BVI6. Galaxy Tab A8 users in Europe can get the Android 12 update by navigating to the device settings "Software Update" and clicking Download and Install.

With the Android 12 update, the Galaxy Tab A8's UI design has been refreshed with a Material You-based color palette feature. Primary colors can be extracted from user-selected wallpapers and applied to various UI elements. The new software also brings a widget picker UI, new styles for widgets, and a better dark mode. The quick settings panel brings a refreshed design and more quick settings toggles.

Brightness and volume sliders are now larger. The camera app is more pure, and video recording starts as soon as the user touches the shutter button. One UI 4 also brings more lock screen widgets and lock screen options. In the Settings app, there are new Security and Emergencies menus. Bixby and Bixby routines now have more options. Samsung also added new accessibility features.

to better protect privacy and security, Samsung has implemented a privacy indicator that appears when any app or service uses the camera or microphone. Users can even turn on/off system-wide access to the camera and microphone via a quick settings toggle. One UI 4 also displays permission history and allows users to choose vague location permissions for apps.

Other features include animated stickers, an improved built-in app, a resizable picture-in-picture window, and a new charging animation. The Samsung Keyboard makes emojis and GIFs more accessible. Added option to enter animated emoji and correct user language through Grammarly integration. The share menu is now cleaner and more customizable.
