Users complained that the iPhone 14 Pro doesn't work perfectly with Apple's MagSafe Duo charger

When Apple launched the iPhone 13 Pro last year, some users noticed that the device did not fit the Apple MagSafe Duo charger because the phone brought a larger camera module. With the introduction of the iPhone 14 Pro, the rear camera is bigger, and the incompatibility issue is even more pronounced for those who have a MagSafe Duo charger.

Some users have complained that the iPhone 14 Pro doesn't work perfectly with Apple's MagSafe Duo charger. This year's Pro models have a significantly larger camera module, which prevents the device from being fully aligned with the magnetic charger, even without a protective case.

While the iPhone 14 Pro can still be charged with the MagSafe Duo, the device won't lie flat on the charger, and part of it will lift up slightly.

The issue doesn't affect iPhone 14 Pro Max owners, though, and while the phone also has a larger camera module, the device is taller than the regular Pro model.

The MagSafe Duo charger was launched by Apple in 2020 and can conveniently charge compatible iPhones, Apple Watches, wireless charging cases for AirPods, and other Qi-certified devices. But Apple has never launched a new version of the charger since then. It’s worth noting that the MagSafe Duo Charger only works with the Apple Watch Series 7 using the Apple Watch Magnetic Fast Charger to USB-C Cable.

In 2021, a revised version of the MagSafe charger has been submitted to the FCC, but it has not yet been released. Apple says on its website that despite the fit issues, the MagSafe Duo is compatible with every model in the iPhone 14 series. The price of this accessory is US$129 (RMB 1049).
