Apple's iOS 16.2 Beta 3 preview fixes stuttering and animation delays on iPhones

Apple’s iOS 16.2 Beta 3 preview fixes a problem that has long affected users of the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro series lags and stutters occur.

Since the launch of iOS 16, users have been reporting that the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro series with ProMotion screens experience stuttering animations and cannot run at 120Hz. None of the subsequent iOS 16 updates addressed the issue, including iOS 16.1, which was released last month. However, according to user reports on MacRumors and Reddit, the latest beta version of iOS 16.2 has fixed this problem.

In iOS 16.2 Beta 3, the Apple iPhone  14 Pro series brought customization options to the AOD screen display function. Currently, users of the iPhone 14 Pro series can disable the wallpaper or notifications in the AOD screen display through the "Settings - Display and Brightness - Screen Display" page.

The official version of Apple's iOS 16.2 is expected to be released to the public in mid-December, which contains a number of new features, including new customization options for the iPhone 14 Pro's off-screen display, new lock screen widgets, and more.
